Danny Young sues Tiwa Savage for alleged copyright theft

Danny young has proceeded to sue Tiwa after the video was restored on Youtube

Veteran singer cum hit-maker, Tiwa Savage has been hit with an N200M lawsuit by singer Danny Young Uber the allegations of copyright theft.

Earlier this morning, it was reported that the video for Tiwa Savage’s song, ‘One’ which was initially taken down by streaming platform, YouTube following allegations of copyright infringement by a third party believed to be Ajibola Olumuyiwa Danladi, popularly known as Danny Young had been restored as the allegations could not be proven.

But instead of a happy ending, Danny Young has now taken the case further with a lawsuit filed against her at the Federal Hight Court, Lagos, dated February 13, 2019.

This was made known by Danny Young on his Instagram page with the caption,

”Tiwa! I know pple love u! Even me… BUT I still have to sue u bcos u stole my sh*t! a simple dialogue would av solved this but u prefer it this way. Now we will be in court discussing some 200,000,000 Damages.”

Danny Young Sues Tiwa Savage For Alleged Copyright Theft

In a press release by the law firm representing him, Creative Legal and signed by its Principal Attorney, Justin Ige, it stated the reason why the decision was made,

“Piracy is bad enough, but it is perhaps worse when creative people appear to completely disrespect the intellectual property rights of fellow creatives. Such conduct should not be without due consequences”

A lay man may not understand what we are fighting for as it is more technical than just the lyrics. Nigeria is a place where writers do not get credits from the artiste they wrote songs for because the artiste wants to get all the glory alone.

Producers also do not know that they have a right to royalties even after being paid for the beat. If I contribute one word to your composition, I automatically have a right to credits as one of the writers. This is a world standard and anything less is unacceptable especially when coming from an artiste that has international exposure.”

Since the allegations were initially made, Tiwa Savage has refused to respond to it in any terms However, a few media holdings has made efforts to reach out to the singer, Tiwa Savage’s representatives for comment but are yet to get any response

The year 2018 has indeed been a great one for the 27-year-old Afrofusion singer Burna Boy, who recently acquired a brand new 2019 Range Rover and flaunted his new toy on social media.

The London boy singer has had a busy year. With the release of his record-smashing album titled Outside, he has proved to many Nigerians that there is more to him rhythmically and lyrically. Many hit songs of the album has had him in many cities performing and of course, cashing out.

Spacey Accuser Filmed Alleged Sexual Assault On Snapchat

Spacey Accuser Filmed Alleged Sexual Assault On Snapchat

A video showing Kevin Spacey assaulting a teenager in a Nantucket bar is in the hands of Massachusetts State Police, according to a police report obtained by states that the victim of the case had taken a Snapchat video of part of the encounter which could serve as proof of the alleged crime.

The drinks continued constantly through the whole night. Things started to get a little fuzzy when [Unruh’s son] and Spacey went over to the piano,” Trooper Gerald F. Donovan wrote in the report. “[Unruh’s son] said he had at least four or five beers before Spacey said they should switch to whiskey adding, ‘Let’s get drunk.’ ”

The actor is said to have told the young man to stop texting his girlfriend and shifted the conversation to his penis size. “[Unruh’s son] said he did not know how to respond to that,” Donovan wrote in his report. Later, Spacey invited the teenager to come back to his home. After receiving a refusal, the House of Cards star decided to fondle the teen's private parts. This is the act that was reportedly caught on video.

Drake Shows Off His Son Adonis' Adorable Artwork

Drake Shows Off His Son Adonis' Adorable Artwork

Drake went through a hell of a year when it came to his son. Although the rapper had planned on revealing his seed to the world on his album, Pusha T beat him to the punch and dragged young Adonis into the feud. At the time, millions believed the "deadbeat dad" narrative that Pusha T sold so well, but that was all for entertainment. Grounded in reality, and not a rap feud, is Drake's undying love for his child. The proud father gushed about his newborn on Scorpion, but he's been careful about sharing too much information about the baby. As Christmas night drew to a close though, Drizzy took to Instagram to share a piece of art his son made for him, presumably as a holiday gift.

Drake posted a picture of Adonis' hand painting to his Instagram, captioning the pic with "Adonis > Picasso don’t @ me 💙🎄." Those are the words of an extremely proud father, and the white frame he placed around the artwork drives his admiration home. Adonis' art will certainly hold a special place on Drizzy's wall. While Drake may have millions in the bank, it's the little things that come from the heart that really touch us all.

Banky W tells Nigerians Not to Sell There Vote

Banky W tells Nigerians Not to Sell There Vote

Banky W has said Nigerians who collect money from politicians to vote during elections should not complain about the economy.

In an interview with Sahara TV, the popular entertainer said his party is hoping that the frustration in the country has made people wiser about voting. He said;

“We are counting on the fact that Nigerians know what is going on, they have not fooled easily anymore,”

“Even the poorest among us understand this game, they understand that every four years, politicians come along and give them money to cast their vote and that is the last time they will see them till four years later.

“We are trying to educate people and say that we can’t do the same thing and expect different results. If they are going to vote for a politician because he gave 20k, then don’t complain that things are hard because you mortgaged your piece of the country by going that route.”

Speaking on voter apathy, he said people who do not show up at the polling booth on election day are the ones that make it easy to rig.

“By not voting, you are voting for things to remain the same. By not voting, you are giving you voice and your vote to the same people you are complaining about.

“People complain about rigging, what they don’t understand that when they stay home, that’s the perfect scenario for rigging to occur.

“When you make an allotment in this room for 10 people to vote and one person shows up, you have just created the perfect scenario for anybody to come along and play with the numbers.”

Amber Rose Shares Throwback Pic With Rihanna

When Amber Rose isn't posing naked in the sun with a fur coat or playing with her pet snake she's going through archived photos from the early 2000s. Her latest share to Instagram proves the last point to be true since Amber shared a vintage photo from 2009 with her and Rihanna. As seen below, the photo shows a very youthful Amber and Riri who, at one point, were pretty good friends.

It's safe to say the two may be on good terms now, but there was one moment when Riri sent of some tweets that were seemingly aimed at Amber. In 2009 Chris Brown brutally attacked Rihanna and a few years later Amber was supposedly grinding on him at a club. "But she just broke up with Wiz now she with my ex n***a?" Rihanna tweeted at the time, adding: "Ratchet & unfaithful."

A lot has changed in almost 10 years which makes us confident that the two are now civil.

Speaking of Wiz Khalifa, he and Amber share a son together and seem to be co-parenting successfully with Amber only sharing kind words about Wiz's girlfriend, Winnie Harlow. "I think she’s a fucking sweetheart and you know, I love my ex-husband in a way where … it’s you know, he’s my best friend,” she said.

A post shared by Amber Rose (@amberrose) on
"I think Winnie is so cool and also as a parent, it’s like, if Winnie is at the house, I know that she’s going to be so nice to my son and that’s so important to me instead of having a person that’s like not good to your baby."

Pitbull sets goal to teach 20,000 kids in 2019

Rapper Pitbull is making the expansion of his educational endeavours his New Year's resolution, pledging to teach 20,000 students in his schools by the close of 2019.

The Timber hit-maker is the co-founder and ambassador for SLAM! (Sports Leadership Arts and Management) charter schools, which has expanded into seven locations since the first campus was founded in 2013 in his native Miami, Florida, and now he is looking to educate double the number of kids for the year ahead.

"When it comes to education, we have now 10 schools with 10,000 kids in it. So I would say for next year my resolution would be to be up to 20 schools with 20,000 kids in it," he tells Variety.

Pitbull, real name Armando Perez, is proud of his work with SLAM!, which serves low-income students with free tuition and boasts a 95 per cent graduation rate, and he hopes the success of the schools shows others how the arts can help improve society.

"Bottom line, my goal is always to show people the power of music and how that can unite people instead of divide people," he explains, "and the society that we're living in right now, everybody's about instant gratification and they're more about negative news rather than positive news.

So if we can continue to put out music that brings people together instead of separating them, that to me is always the major accomplishment.

Because that leads us to be able to do things like education and really help those that really need it and those that really crave and starve and take advantage of opportunities.

"So with that said, as always the major goal is utilising music to the best of its ability to bring everybody together."

Pitbull was honoured for his contribution to the music industry with a hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday (14Dec18) and the event was wrapped up with an even greater honour courtesy of his good pal John Travolta.

"It's a true honour and there's not even words to explain what it is to be a part of something so iconic - to be able to leave your legacy one way or another in Hollywood," he gushes of his cement ceremony.

"A good friend of ours, John Travolta, hit me up with a message saying: 'They better put you next to me.' "So for John Travolta, with everything that he has contributed to Hollywood and to film and the icon that he is, to be able to hit me up with a message like that? It's priceless."

Travolta was on hand at the ceremony to celebrate his friend's feat.

'Nicki Minaj has blocked me on social media' - Meek Mill

Rapper Meek Mill discovered his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj had blocked him on social media after he went on her page to check out her new man.

The Ima Boss hitmaker, who dated the Anaconda rapper from 2015 to 2017, asked his Twitter followers to send him questions as part of a Q&A session on Sunday night (16Dec18). And when asked for his opinion on Nicki's new boyfriend Kenneth Petty, who she recently debuted on social media, Meek revealed he had been blocked by his former love.

"I don’t feel nothing ... and I don’t know that man to judge him ... I went to check him out on her page and found out I was blocked," he wrote.

After Nicki shared a snap alongside her new beau earlier in December, it was revealed that he is a registered sex offender in New York due to a 1995 conviction for attempted rape, and had also served time following a first degree manslaughter charge relating to the fatal shooting of a man in 2006.

The rapper came to his defence, telling her followers Petty and the victim were both minors in 1994. She wrote, "He was 15, she was 16… in a relationship. But go (off) Internet. Ya'll can’t run my life. Ya’ll can’t even run ya’ll own life."

TMZ reported that she had been in a relationship with Petty before, as they first dated when she was 16 years old.

As part of his #AskMeek Twitter session, Meek, who was released in prison in April after spending five months behind bars over a probation violation, was asked about the hardest thing about being incarcerated. He replied, "Not being able to go home (crying with laughter) of course... but really that cold metal toilet... I’m picky about my toilets ... and I was sad it was a toilet 3 feet away from my bed."

When asked when he could perform in London, he admitted he had trouble getting past U.K. authorities due to his record, and he also opened about his sex life, revealing that he was "getting freakier" now he was older.

Travis Scott and Kanye West have moved on after feud, says Kylie Jenner

Travis Scott and Kanye West have moved on after their feud, the Sicko Mode star's partner Kylie Jenner has insisted.

The pair hit headlines last week (end16Dec18) when Kanye tweeted about the track, which features Drake and includes a line about preferring "checks over stripes" - a reference to preferring Nike over Adidas (Kanye's Yeezy brand is a collaboration with Adidas).

Accusing Travis of threatening him as part of his beef with Drake, Kanye added: "You gotta a number one record but you got it by letting this dude diss your brother in law."

He later deleted the tweets about Travis and backtracked over his remarks, and on Saturday told followers that he had met up with Travis. "Met with Trav at my crib this morning We expressed ourselves It’s all love," he wrote on Saturday night, before later adding:

"Drake and Trav both love Ye (Kanye) more than anyone and I love those guys back. We love everyone."

However, just hours later, Travis sported Nike apparel in a post on his Instagram Stories, raising eyebrows and causing one fan to comment:

"Travis Scott is my kinda petty." Jumping to Travis' defense, reality star Kylie insisted:

"he’s not being petty. this is a sweatshirt design (the sock is apart of the design). everyone is good, moved on, living life.

For anyone who wasn’t aware - Travis has had a deal with Nike and still does. point is.. it’s all been talked out. It’s only positive energy.

" Travis has yet to address any issues with Kanye on his social media pages.

Future Says He Sacrificed "True Love" To Live A Lifestyle He "Could Never Imagine"

Future Says He Sacrificed "True Love" To Live A Lifestyle He "Could Never Imagine"

As Future prepares his next musical project, he's been embroiled in a severe case of baby mama drama for the last little while. The situation was so complicated that Wendy Williams even made a chart to clear up who he's fathered children with.

After some back-and-forth between the TV host and Future, the artist decided to put a focus on his art again, saying that he can't argue with her because her feet are bigger than his. Seriously... that was grounds for the dismissal of the beef. Pluto has been fairly silent since then but he spoke on his lavish lifestyle in a recent social media post, saying that he sacrificed true love in order to get where he's at.

For Britni, Joie, and all the others, Future enjoyed his time with you but he's got to be on his YOLO shit all the time. "Sacrifice true love to live a lifestyle I could never imagine... u only live once," wrote the rapper. With all the relationship drama that has been made public in his life, it's unclear who he had "true love" with. It could be any of the six alleged women he's fathered babies with or somebody else altogether.

At least Fewtch is happy living his life because he's got a whole lot of critics bashing him as of late.

Katy Perry is Forbes’ “World’s Highest Paid Woman in Music” for 2018

With playing 80 dates of her Witness:The Tour and grossing over $1 million per night and serving as a judge on ABC’s American Idol reboot, reportedly earning north of $20 million, Katy Perry is the 2018 world’s highest paid woman in music, according to Forbes, making a whopping $83 million pretax.

Ranking second on the list is singer Taylor Swift who raked in $80 million, with the launch of her new album Reputation, which sold two million copies worldwide in its opening week.

According to Forbes, the only reason she didn’t claim the top spot on this list is that most of her Reputation Stadium Tour dates fell just outside this year’s scoring period. Beyoncé rounds out the top three, pulling in $60 million.

See the top 10 below:

  1. Katy Perry – $83 million
  2. Taylor Swift – $80 million
  3. Beyoncé – $60 million

Cardi B To Join Mariah Carey & Lil Kim For An Unexpected Remix

Cardi B To Join Mariah Carey & Lil Kim For An Unexpected Remix

Mariah Carey stopped by Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live while promoting her later studio album, Caution. Although the show presents the perfect platform for the exchange of shady comments, the diva kept it sweet. Everytime another artist was mentioned, Mariah stayed positive. She took this attitude to a new level when Cohen mentioned Cardi B.

When asked whether she would like to collaborate with the "I Like It" rapper, Carey responded with enthusiasm and looped the legendary Lil' Kim into the scenario.

“I would love for that to happen. The song you guys were just playing, ‘A No No,’ which was originally Lil’ Kim’s song — we love Kim — I was hoping that the three of us could do a collaboration.” She then added, “but if nobody puts it together, it’s not going to happen.”

The song she refers to was released in early December. "A No No" includes samples lifted from Lil' Kim's remix of "Crush on You" that dropped in 1997. The track featured the Notorious B.I.G. and Lil Cease.

Fans can be hopeful for this new collaboration to materialize. Lil Kim's stage manager uploaded a clip that would suggest as much. She also tagged Carey, Cardi, and Lil' Kim in the caption alongside Jermaine Dupri and Atlantic Records.

50 Cent Jokes The Feds Should Nab Him If Adrien Broner Loses Fight

50 Cent Jokes The Feds Should Nab Him If Adrien Broner Loses Fight

Though 50 Cent may have turned his back on the rainbow-haired scamp he once called "son," it would appear he's already starting to miss the little guy. Tekashi 6ix9ine is currently sitting in general population while he awaits his bail hearing, and 50 is doing his part to keep the DUMMY BOY rapper's memory alive on his Instagram feed. Even when the post in question actually has nothing to do with 6ix9ine; such is the mark of a father in mourning. Case in point, 50 recently took to IG to reflect on the upcoming fight between Adrian Broner and Manny Pacquiao, making sure to slide in a 6ix9ine reference for good measure.

"N***a you better not lose this fight or the FED’s better come get me like they got my son," he writes, alongside a clip of Broner's comedic pre-fight conference. It's no surprise that 50 has come to admire Broner, given their shared propensity for casual trolling. Yet we can't forget that Broner and 6ix9ine previously engaged in a brief feud of sorts, all the way back in March. In any case, 50 Cent is likely placing a respectable bet on Broner to secure the win, lest his very freedom hang in the balance.

Nicki Minaj Supports Tekashi 6ix9ine During Time Of Need: "Danny, I Love You"

Nicki Minaj Supports Tekashi 6ix9ine During Time Of Need: "Danny, I Love You"

Nicki Minaj has added her voice to DJ Akademik's, in declaring Tekashi 6ix9ine's album pushed back. Nicki posted the following message via Instagram, by invoking his pet name "Danny" as she wished him and his family the best in overcoming the greatest obstacle to ever come his way.

"For reasons beyond music, the record company will hold off on putting his project out for now," she wrote on Instagram. "Danny, I love you and am praying for you, your Mother, daughter & her Mom during this time."

With her message of sympathy, Nicki has indeed given credence to the earlier report posted by DJ Akademiks, in which he stated that Tekashi's DUMMY would be pushed back until further notice. Besides this public offering from Nicki Minaj, no official announcement on the matter has been from anyone within Tekashi's personal entourage.

The tracklist submitted for DUMMY included a bevy of high profile guest spots including Lil Baby, Gunna, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Tory Lanez and even a wire-tap recording of Bobby Schmurda from behind bars. Tekashi 6ix9ine is evidently "far too indisposed" to lend any support to DUMMY's release. The New York-born rapper is currently being held in a Brooklyn detention center while he awaits the dissemination of his racketeering charges.

Young Thug's New Mugshot Has Been Released

Young Thug's New Mugshot Has Been Released

Earlier today, it was reported that Young Thug was sent back to jail after he failed a drug test. He had previously been locked up a few weeks ago when On The Rvn was expected to drop before he was released. This year has been quite unfortunate when it comes to Thugger's run-ins with the law as he is seemingly collecting mugshots like they were grade school photos. At this point, he can probably fill up a yearbook with his own mugshots. With his most recent arrest, new photos were taken of the rapper at the prison facility and they've made their way online.

Unlike Orlando Brown or Bill Cosby, Young Thug doesn't look like an absolute mess in the photo. He has on his glasses as he slightly tilts his head, looking straight into the camera. Jeffery reportedly failed a drug test this morning in relation to his other recent arrest.

Thug has been having a solid year, releasing a few noteworthy projects in Hear No Evil and On The Rvn. If only he could get everything sorted out with the legal issues, he may be able to rise even higher up the ranks.

At this point, it's assumed that the Atlanta artist is still in police custody. He has not yet commented on the matter but hopefully, we'll hear from him or his representatives shortly. Free Thugger!

Tiwa Savage becomes the first woman to win 'Best African Act' at the MTV Europe awards

Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has become the first Nigerian female artist to win the MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs) in the Best African Act category.

The Afro-pop singer snatched the record-breaking award at the 2018 MTV EMAs held on Sunday at the Bilbao Exhibition Center, Bilbao, Spain with several music stars across the world in attendance. The African act category, in 2005, was infused into the MTV EMA to enhance musical alliances across borders, and promote cultural integrations.

Until Tiwa’s win, three Nigerians had taken the award home including 2Baba in 2005, D’banj in 2007 and 2012; and Davido in 2017.

In 2018, Tiwa was nominated alongside fellow Nigerian act, David Adeleke, aka Davido; South Africa’s Distruction Boyz and Shekinah; Kenya’s Nyashinski and Fally Ipupa from the DRC.

Celebrating the award, Tiwa took to her Instagram page @tiwasavage to dedicate the win to African women and aspiring young girls. She said, “Almighty God, you are so faithful. My savage soldiers did it for me.

“You have stuck with me through the roller coasters. Thank you. To my amazing team, this is just the beginning. African women, this is for us. “I have been through a lot but I have kept my head up and weathered the storm because I know some little girl somewhere is dreaming like I did,” Tiwa said.

She signed a recording contract with Mavin Records in 2012 and currently has a songwriting deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. The mother of one also signed a management and publishing deal with Roc Nation in June 2016. However, the biggest winner at the awards night was the Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello.

She scooped four awards, winning “Best Song,” “Best Artist,” “Best Video” and “Best U.S. Act” in a show that featured a stellar performance from Janet Jackson. Cabello, 21, who already led the pack at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, urged her fans in the United States to vote in the 2018 midterm elections as she walked the red carpet in the northern Spanish city of Bilbao, Reuters reported.

The singer, who rose to fame as a member of the girl group “Fifth Harmony,” formed on the U.S. edition of the X-Factor, said she relished being seen as a role model.

“I feel like the message for me has always been just like do what makes you happy, even if it’s scary, it’s worth it to take the risk because your happiness is your responsibility,” Cabello said.

“That’s always been my message and I talk about it a lot but I feel like it’s a good message. And yes, very important, go vote!” she said.
